Mark Toohey

Mark Toohey is Chief Financial Officer for GE Capital Australia and New Zealand. He joined GE in 2000, as Chief Financial Officer in the A&NZ Consumer Finance business, as it commenced a period of rapid organic growth and acquisitions.

In September 2005, Mark was appointed as VP & Chief Financial Officer of GE Consumer Finance – Asia, based in Japan, covering 10 countries across the region, before returning to Australia in 2008 to take up his current role.

Prior to joining GE, Mark spent 13 years with ANZ Banking Group where he held a number of senior finance roles at ANZ Corporate HQ in Australia, Esanda Finance subsidiary, and the Retail Banking Division in Australia and United Kingdom. Mark commenced his professional career with Arthur Young (now Ernst Young), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1982, where he spent eight years in the audit and advisory services division.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting and a Masters of Applied Finance. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Australian CPAs.
