Alastair Metcalf

Alastair is the Managing Director of Corporate Finance for GE Capital in Australia and New Zealand.

Corporate Finance provides senior secured debt facilities from $5million to $300million to businesses across Australia and New Zealand. It also provides finance for aircraft, mining and to support private equity acquisitions. The business specialises in providing finance to companies for working capital, acquisition, growth, restructuring and capital expansion. The business has full capabilities to originate, underwrite, syndicate and manage a wide variety of financial solutions for the corporate market.

Alastair joined GE in 2002 as head of Business Development for GE Commercial Finance. He led several acquisitions over the following five years that contributed to the growth of the business. In 2006, he led the $2.3BN integration of the Custom Fleet and GE Fleet Services businesses, before being appointed to his current role in mid 2007.

Alastair has an extensive career in finance. He joined Price Waterhouse as a taxation consultant before moving to investment banking. He was a specialist in mergers and acquisitions at investment banks Rothschild and Bankers Trust for a total of 14 years.

Alastair has degrees in each of Finance and Law from the University of New South Wales.
